Women of Skateboarding: Cara-Beth Burnside

Cara-Beth Burnside, also known as CB, was born in Orange, California on July 23, 1971. She has an extremely storied career, achieving high honors for both skateboarding and snowboarding over the years. She is a founding member of Action Sports Alliance (aka The Alliance), a non-profit organization of female pro-level skateboarders and action sports athletes. She also held position as the organization's first president. The Alliance, with Burnside at the helm, notably negotiated significant prize increases for female skateboarders entering the X Games. They also helped negotiate and introduce a women's surfing event to the X Games lineup. In her personal career, she has participated in and won 16 titles, participating in the X Games, Vans Triple Crown, Soul Bowl, All Girl Skate Jam, and more. She was the first female to be on Thrasher Magazine's cover, for their August issue of 1989. In 2008 PETA nominated her as one of the World's Sexiest
